Rachel Ellis, MD is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid and facial surgery. Dr. Ellis graduated with honors from Cornell University with a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences. She then received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha national honor society. She performed her residency training in ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate. Following residency, Dr. Ellis completed a fellowship in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery in New York.
Dr. Ellis teaches North Shore/Long Island Jewish residents ophthalmic plastic surgery at Queens Hospital Center. She directs the oculoplastic program at Jamaica Hospital Center. She is often consulted for the most challenging eyelid surgeries. She has presented research at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Ellis is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and has been a member of the Academy of Ophthalmology since 2004. Dr. Ellis currently resides in Long Island with her husband and two children.
