Pre-Op:
I was initially reluctant to have any type of laser vision correction procedure performed on me, but my reluctance was simply based on my lack of knowledge about the procedures. During my free consultation, Dr. Koster spent a significant amount of time with me answering all of my questions and explaining the PRK procedure to me in great detail. After our discussion, I was convinced that PRK was for me. Needless to say, it always helps to know that the procedure is being performed by a Harvard medically trained physician with more than 15000 procedures under his belt.
Post-Op:
Another unexpected pleasant surprise about my experience with Dr. Koster and the staff of the NY Laser Group was the extent to which they made themselves available to me for any follow up questions or concerns after the procedure. My procedure was performed on a Friday morning, and Dr. Koster provided me with his cell number to reach him over the weekend if necessary. Additionally, one of the staff members called me that Saturday morning (on her day off) to see how I was doing.
It’s been two months now since I’ve had the PRK procedure performed on me, and I am seeing 20/20 without any issues.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to express my feelings on the fine work Dr. Harry Koster does with regard to eye surgery. It was May and June of 2006 when Dr. Harry Koster performed my implant surgery in my eyes. I was hesitant at first, but then I finally agreed to do the surgery. Dr. Koster is a miracle worker! I have 20/20 vision now and haven't had any residuals in the four years since the surgery. It's so amazing. If I didn't know I had the surgical implants, I would never believe that such a surgery is possible! Not only is Dr. Koster a very skilled surgeon but he is also a very caring and gentle man. I had two surgeries done on my eyes to correct near sightedness: a LASIK surgery on the left eye and an ICL lens implant on the right eye. Both surgeries were very successful and I recovered quickly experiencing almost no discomfort during the recovery period.
A few hours after the ICL lens implant, I noticed a significant improvement in my vision but the biggest difference was the next morning when I woke up seeing everything very clearly (clearer than with contact lenses or glasses that I used to wear prior to surgery). Now, I have 20/20 vision, which may slightly fluctuate, but stays stable most of the time.
The LASIK surgery on my left eye also significantly improved my vision and I could see the change already a few hours after the surgery. The procedure I underwent was done without the so-called “flap”, and it takes a little bit longer for the eye to heal, as the laser was used right on the surface of my eye. Therefore, a few months after the surgery my vision is still a bit blurry and fuzzy; however, I can see clearer everyday as the eye heals.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the outcome of both procedures as my vision is even better than when I used to wear glasses or contact lenses…and I don’t have to wear them anymore. It was the best decision I have ever made with regards to my health. The world looks better now!

Alternating between glasses and contacts had always been part of my life. I’ve always had thoughts in the back of my head of undergoing Lasik to improve my vision. I decided it was time to investigate surgical correction, so I met with Dr. Koster for a consultation. He and his staff were extremely thorough with their eye exam and took the time to answer all my questions.
The day of the surgery Dr. Koster talked me through the procedure and made me feel at ease. The procedure was painless and the results were almost immediate.
